Work At Heights
Course Description
This course is designed to develop the participant’s:
- Awareness of the risks associated with working at height
- Knowledge of Work at height safe work practices
- Understanding of the control measures required for work at height
Training shall consist of a combination of formal instruction (e.g., lecture, discussion, interactive, video, written material). Each candidate will undergo a theory assessment (multiple-choice questions) at the end of the course.
Course Objective
By the end of this course participants should be able to:
- Know about the risks associated with working at height
- Know of work at height safe work practices
- Understand the control measures required for work at height
- Understand how to carry out a work at height pre-assessment and control
- Understand rescue arrangements for work at height
- Know of the Fall protection system
- Understand the importance and requirements of training of staff and others
- Take into consideration environmental conditions
- Identify work at height associated/Specific Hazards and/or risks
- Understand the importance of maintenance and inspection of fall protection equipment
- Understand the responsibilities of the supervisor and employees
- Know the different types of personal fall protection systems
- Know the common equipment for fall arrest system
- Know of the safe use and requirements of work at height equipment including scaffolding, ladders, and mobile elevated working platforms.
- Know the components and requirements of personal fall arrest system
- Understand the requirements for safe working on roof
