Gas Tester

Introduction
Introduction
 
Training shall consist of a combination of formal instruction (e.g., lecture, discussion, interactive, video, written material),
practical training (demonstrations performed by the trainer and practical exercises performed by trainee) and evaluation of the
Candidates performance at the work site
Each candidate will undergo a theory assessment test and a Practical Gas Testing Assessment for successfully completion of
the course.
Completed checklists in addition to completed multiple-choice questions would be assessed to verify competence.

Course Objective
By the end of this course participants should be able to: 

  • Understand the risks associated with confined space entry 
  • Understanding operational instructions 
  • Know Codes of Practice and Guidance Notes 
  • Know the testing requirements for oxygen, flammable and toxic gases Recognize problems and limitations in their
  • knowledge and expertise
  • Understanding and recording of results 
  • Understand the hazards of deficient, environments 
  • Understand the properties of different gases Know the acceptable levels Understand the operating principles ofatmosphere monitoring and measuring equipment 
  • Know of when and why gas testing is required, i.e. for confined spaces and for hot work. 
  • Select, maintain and use the correct gas testing equipment. 
  • Conduct interpret and document gas testing in confined spaces and for hot work.
